Interview by Rev. Christopher Gore with Rev. Mark Johnson & Rev. Elaine Betts. This interview will highlight the ministry that is going on on some streets in Delaware towards the homeless of Delaware. Rev. Mark & Rev. Elaine share some of their experiences with the Church and how the Church has responded to the people of the streets.
Mark and Elaine share on the importance of praying for the people that they have connected with over their time on the streets. They share how important it is to not just chuck food at them or give them things but how they stop and develop friendships with them like Jesus did.
They share how they are planting seeds within the hearts of these homeless people. They have made a commitment to Jesus to serve them with a heart of love and to not be offended at the things they say or do. Mark & Elaine share on some of the things that they have seen. It's important to have a sense of humor but to also know when to use it. They share on some of the negative responses from the Church.
Rev. Christopher shares on Matt 23: 13 - 14 and challenges the audience to not be like the scribes and Pharisees but to have a heart of compassion. Mark shares on the Good Samaritan.
There are different needs of street ministry for Street Ministry, Rev. Elaine shares on how in the warmer seasons, there is a need for sunblock and bug repellant because of where the homeless are forced to stay.
