“How the mighty have fallen, and the weapons of war perished!” II Samuel 1: 27 (NKJV)
This was the lament of King David upon hearing the news of the death of his friend Jonathan. These truly are perilous times that we live in. As we travel closer to the consummation of the ages, Men's hearts fail them for fear. The evidence of love growing colder and the great falling away increasing in intensity proves the integrity of the Bible. It is amazing how this book was written thousands of years ago yet speaks to the current events of our day and time.
This drama that we see being played out before us demonstrates the power of God. The Body of Christ still does not understand that a war is taking place. Nevertheless, God has set the battle in array. The forces of light will overcome the forces of darkness. There are many casualties in this war. Some have died by the hand of the enemy others died because they allowed their heart to become dark before the Lord. This was a choice that was made by them. They will have to live with that choice throughout the remainder of eternity.
God has prophesied that we would see Churches of all types fall. This is occurring at an exponential rate at this given time. There is no end in sight. A great slaughter has occurred, but none will be able to say that they were not warned. God sent the warnings in multiple layers and multiple forms. Many Watchmen were sent into the camp, and the alarm was sounded but few even paid attention that the alarm was going off. This is just like the days of Noah. Noah spent a significant amount of time telling the world that a flood was coming. They mocked and ridiculed him without restraint. Noah was faithful and delivered the words that God gave him to speak yet they refused.
There is a grave evil that exists under the sun. Men and women who are drawn to darkness who failed to understand that that darkness will ultimately destroy them. God is is faithful in all things and He makes a way of escape for His people. It is not his fault if they do not choose that way of escape. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, but the plan of God will move on. There are going to be more opportunities in the days ahead to witness the mighty falling. These things must take place because this is what happens during wartime.
At all times we must understand that the Word of God will be fulfilled, and it will accomplish what He set it out to accomplish. Remember these words from John.
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” John 3: 17 – 21 (NKJV). Selah
